Antonio’s primary experience is in the Restaurant Business raised and shaped around people 24/7. As most people know, Antonio’s charismatic with an outgoing personality, which has been neutered from his early days in the business and life.
Post many years working in the catering industry, woke up and decided to change the line of business when he had the opportunity to run a small barber shop in a small village in Paola. Attending a basic barbing course locally, Antonio soon released that the sky is the limit.
To reach his goal, he moved to the UK to specialise in old school barbering techniques he always envisioned. While attending a three-year course for Old School Barbering techniques, he also opened his second barber shop in the city of Leicester, with a bigger footfall and a higher exposure to the famous quote “practice makes perfect”.
Not ever feeling content, while in the UK through vigorous Research & Development and testing (not on animals) he produced his famous and superb line of products approved by no less than himself and his customers.

Feeling nostalgic of his island, family and Maltese weather he decided to move back and introduce the Old School Barbering to Malta. Considering that the footfall as he had in the UK was difficult to obtain, in 2012 he opened a small barber shop in Balzan to basically test the waters. He soon realised he just made the first step to building a massive empire!
Setting his mind on a bigger and a more client-oriented barber shop, and realising the small shop was gaining momentum and popularity the line outside his door was long, veeery loooong.. He had to do something about it, he doesn’t like to see unsettled clients and wanted to make sure they have the best service on the island.
Next step? Bigger, better, funkier, massive man cave with barbering services. The second barber shop opened with coffee, beer, whiskey, billiard and a place any man can chill and get pampered as they rightfully deserve. Little he knew that his vision to have four barbers daily was really thinking small. Demand was huge. Growth was imminent, right?
One year down the line, the shop was equipped with 10+ super talented barbers trained and formed to Antonio’s highest standards, his motto is “my barbers are a reflection and an extension of myself”.
The sky is the limit, am i right? Again the demand was huge, unexpected. It required a second store to reach more people that maybe had difficulty reaching the Balzan store and to mainly reduce the booking waiting list and keeping you guys happy. In collaboration with Frank’s, and Antonio’s perseverance the Sliema outlet was born.
Now that Antonio Barber Shop is the local brand of the Maltese Islands, what is next? What does the future hold? Only Antonio knows!
